Quick and Easy 'Cheesy' Sauce

I love creamy dips and sauces, but since going dairy-free it has been hard to get that creaminess and cheesy flavour I so enjoy. But guess what? I’ve created a Quick and Easy ‘Cheesy’ Sauce, great for dipping, or to use as a sauce or dressing. The nutritional yeast in this recipe is what gives it a cheese-like flavour, while the cashews give it a creamy texture.

More good news – this sauce is good for you, too! Nutritional yeast is loaded with nutrients and can also be beneficial for the immune system. Some of the nutrients found in nutritional yeast include:

·      Good source of protein

·      Good source of B vitamins

·      Good source of fibre

Here is the recipe for my Quick and Easy ‘Cheesy’ Sauce:

Quick and Easy ‘Cheesy’ Sauce

Yields: 1 serving

¼ cup soaked cashews, soaked for at least 6 hours

¼ cup nutritional yeast

3 tablespoons water

¼ teaspoon sea salt

Place all ingredients in blender and blend to a smooth consistency.
